FAQs

You may be wondering...

How long are classes?

Each class is 45-50 minutes long. This is so there is enough time to end with a 5 minute grounding meditation - a moment to relax and unwind. This is vital for experiencing the Mind Flow benefits of these intentionally designed classes. You'll thank us later! For the Mums & Bubs classes - we usually hang around a little longer.

What does my membership include?

We offer one pause on a 12 week membership (once - for up to 1-2 weeks in duration). We kindly request notice in writing 2 weeks beforehand so we have enough time to action. December pauses are limited to one week for everyone. Please contact us if you need further clarification. Pauses can be done for up to 4 weeks or longer for injuries with a medical certificate.

What do I need to bring/wear to my workout?

We recommend you bring grip socks and a water bottle. We supply all equipment and Pilates Mats. You don't have to carry this around! All reformer sessions must have grip socks as per our policy. We allow bare foot for matwork so you can feet grounded and get a good sense of proprioception (awareness of body in space).

What is Video-Guided (Digital) Reformer? How does the video-guided (digital) reformer only membership work?

We offer video-guided (digital) reformer timeslots for you to enjoy. This is similar to using gym equipment, only you follow an online designed class, delivered through special screens. This allows you to choose from over 500+ workouts and tailor the length of your session (great if you only have 20-30 minutes!). These are self-guided and not-instructor led. There will always be a staff member in the Studio. We highly recommend you attend at least one of our instructor-led reformer sessions first before booking into these classes, so that you are comfortable with the equipment & springs + basic reformer principles. This is a great option if you can only attend between school times, while still having a few 6am, 8am and a Saturday time-slot. Two classes start at 1.40 and finish at 2.30pm so you are in-time for school pick up at 2.50pm. These require pre-booking as per any other class and are not 24/7 access. Our 12 hour Cancellation/rescheduling policy applies.

Can I attend if I'm injured?

We require medical clearance post injury to attend our classes. These sessions are not 'Physiotherapy' and are designed for general population fitness in a group setting. However, our main instructor is also a Physiotherapist by background so when you obtain clearance to return, she will have utmost awareness and oversight of your injury. For attending classes with an injury that requires lots of 1:1 attention and individualisation, Private Clinical Pilates may be a better fit for you. Please contact us to discuss options. These may be arranged through referral to 'Mind Flow Physio,' based on availability. Private Clinical Pilates is not included in memberships.

Do you see clients one to one? (1:1)

We have just launched our new 'Premium Intro Offer.' This includes x1 one-to-one 30 minute session + 3 group classes. In the 1:1 you will get to learn the reformer basics, names of parts, positions, spring settings and practice some commonly performed exercises. This will give you a great head start before you attend your group class. These are general movement teaching sessions and are not designed for specific guidance around injuries or rehabilitation. A private chance for you to ask all your questions in a supported 1:1 environment! This is designed for first-timers who have never done Reformer Pilates before and want a gentle ease-in before going to the group class setting.

If you are seeking 1:1 clinical Pilates for injuries treatment - this may be offered by our Physiotherapist via appointment through 'Mind Flow Physio' and is claimable by healthfund. Please call or email us to enquire about this option. Limited clinical Pilates sessions offered per month, based on availibility.

Can kids or teens join? Do you have a Crèche? Do you have Mums n Bubs?

Children must be aged 16 and over to attend by themselves. Our minimum age is 14 to attend but children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the studio. Children 16-18 can attend on their own with written consent. All children 14-18 must have written parent or guardian consent. Unfortunately, we do not offer a creche but we have Mums and Bubs classes (see below).

Is there Parking? Where are you located?

Yes plenty of free parking! We are located in Kincumber in the IGA complex (next to Sweenys Pizza).
Match made in Heaven!

Mums and Bubs Classes Questions:
1. Can I use my membership on Mums and Bubs?
2. How do I book in?
3. How many weeks postpartum do I have to be to attend/how old does bub have to be?

1. Yes you can! For example, if you signed up for a x2 classes/week Core membership, you can use x1 of your weekly credits on the Mums and Bubs class. This would mean you can attend another class that week. This could be another Mums n Bubs or a class that isn't a 'Mums and Bub's' class, for example: reformer. We also offer Mums and Bub's x5 Packs to cover your classes without a membership. If you have already bought another pack - these can be redeemed on these classes too but reach out to us and we can swap it.

2. Our cancellation Policy is the same for Mums N bubs classes (12 hrs notice for cancellation/reschedule). Late changes are treated the same as cancellations. Classes are not scheduled back to back so there is time to have tea after and connect with other mums! This is exactly what mums are craving in those postpartum months, I know I did!

3. We require medical clearance to attend if you are under 12 weeks postpartum. We highly recommend at least 6 weeks, however, we find at least ~8 weeks+ is the sweet spot. Around 12 months is our cut-off for the mums and bubs classes.

Can I bring my kids and/or baby?

Us Mum's get it - life is a juggle! You are welcome to bring your baby &/or kids to some of our allocated 'digital reformer' sessions (video-guided reformer classes) - except Saturdays* and *Digital Familiar clients/Adults only sessions.* Babies must remain safe in a pram (arms length away from the moving parts of the reformer beds). We have a small designated 'kids corner' with colouring in and seated activities. Children must remain under the supervision of their guardian/parent at all times and kept at a low noise level/not become disruptive to other members. We kindly ask for your cooperation with. Unfortunately, children aren’t able to attend any 'instructor-led' Reformer and Matwork sessions to preserve the unique 'Mind Flow' and meditation experience. We do however have designated Mum's and Bub's Pilates classes for babies under 12 months old (see information above). Please give us a call if you would like clarification or want to discuss your options.

Can I turn up at any time or is booking always required?

Pre-booking into classes is essential to ensure there is enough room in the class. This can be done through the Momence app via our website or app.

Will you be offering more classes in lunch-times?

We anticipate our timetable will grow with growing demand. Please send us your questions and requests so we can gather feedback.

Do you offer Fitness Passport?

Currently not at this stage.

Which class is best for me? I have no idea where to start!

If you have never done reformer before, start with our 'Beginner Reformer'/ Intro class where we go over fundamentals and building confidence. This is a good place to start so you can learn Pilates basic principles. If you are wanting a 1:1 session before your group class you can purchase our 'Premium Intro Offer' which includes the usual x3 group classes plus one 30 minute 1:1 Intro session (get to know the reformer, springs, positions and basic exercises) in a private and supportive environment. This is not clinical pilates, rather and Introductory session. Please call us to discuss 1:1 Clinical pilates for injuries/rehabilitation which our Physiotherapist may be able to provide on an appointment basis (limited).

Matwork is also a great place to start where you can learn Pilates principles without the moving parts of the reformer. Our Sunday Reset: Stretch & Flow class is also a great beginner option (run on cenrtain dates currently). We offer Reformer - 'Gentle Strength & Flow' which is a slower pace, also great for beginners and popular with our 50+ community. You will feel instantly welcome and greeted with warmth. We also offer 'EveryBODY' reformer sessions - as the name suggests, these are designed for everyBODY (beginner to intermediate) with lots of variations are provided so you feel comfortable with whatever level you are. Our Pilates style is flowy and is designed to be non-intimidating, yet still strengthening. We welcome people of all abilities and really focuses on quality of movement, engaging deeper core muscles, while still giving more challenging options for those who want it!
